CELL PROJECT
Assigned on 10-8-15 and due no later than 10-19-15
Worth 100 points
Students are to choose a creative activity to show the cell. You can use chapter 3 in the Biology
textbook as a reference for organelles. Students can choose one of the activities below or use
their own creativity to do this project.
Activity 1
1. Build or design a 3D model of a cell.
2. Choose either a plant or animal cell.
3. Include the proper organelles (listed below) and choose objects that make a good
representation of the organelle.
4. Create a key to identify parts.
Activity 2
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
Make a cell analogy cartoon.
Use any information from the cell part lesson (chapter 3).
Make the analogy between real world and cell parts.
Make sure the analogy is appropriate and that it makes sense.
The cartoon should be drawn and colored on a single sheet of unlined paper or on a
poster board.
6. Give a complete explanation on the analogy.
Activity 3
1. Write a story about a particular organelle which will be the main character.
2. Your story should have a conflict with another organelle. The problem should be
resolved by the end of the story.
3. The story must be accurate in its portrayal of the organelle.
4. Be creative and keep the attention by developing your characters by using humor, etc.
The Cell Model must contain the following cell organelles. The story or cartoon of the cell
must be about a cell organelle listed below.
Nucleus
Endoplasmic reticulum
Ribosomes
Golgi apparatus
Vesicles
Mitochondria
Vacuole
Lysosomes
Centrioles
Cell wall (if needed)
Cell membrane
Chloroplasts
Cytoplasm
If you would like to do any additional cell project in a different creative outlook you can. I
want you to be as creative with this project as you can. What you cannot do is simply draw a
cell on a piece of paper or poster board.
Examples of other cell project ideas
