Bring your text to class and read the assigned chapter(s) ahead. Group work and/or homework assignments will take place during discussion session. These assignments will not be collected or graded. 2) Laboratory : details will given during lab session. Grading Policy Final grades A B C D 86 - 100 71 - 85 56 - 70 50 - 55 Laboratory 20 % Includes class participation and lab reports. Any experiment not completed or turned in will be assessed a zero. Lowest score dropped. There are no lab make-ups. Lecture material and group work sessions may also take place “in lieu” of an experiment. Midterms 50 % There will be three mid-term exams in the form of exercises and/or problems. None dropped. There are no mid-term make-ups. Final Exam 30 % The final exam is a comprehensive exam. There is no final make-up. An automatic “F” letter grade will be assigned if you fail to come to the final exam. Academic Policies see www.peralta.edu Attendance : is mandatory. I take roll each session. If you miss a class, you are responsible to make it up. If you miss class more than two sessions you might be dropped. However there is no guaranty a person will be dropped - students are responsible for dropping themselves from the class. Those choosing not to continue the course are responsible for turning in a drop card (or else) to the admission office. Digital and Analogue Equipment: Cell phone calculators, laptops and/or digital/analogue equipment are not allowed during quizzes, midterms or exams. Cell phone use is not allowed in the classroom or labs. Water is the only food/fluid allowed DSPS accommodation: For students with a disability, please see DSPS www.berkeleycitycollege.edu or (510) 981.2812 Passport questions : email [email protected] or (510) 466.7368
