Potential actors try performing in front of the director hopping to be cast in the play The list of which actor gets what part is posted The entire cast is assembled and they read the script aloud. The costume and set designs are shown to the cast. The setting and recording of the actors movement on stage throughout the play. The deadline to have your lines memorized. The scenery is complete and assembled on the stage for the actors to rehearse with. The costumes are fitted on the actors with pins but not finished yet. Photos are taken of the actors in costume against the set to help advertise the play. Also head shots of actors are taken to be used in the lobby display and programs. The Lighting Designer and light crew hang the lights and focus them as to where they need to be. The Stage Manager, Lighting Designer and Director choose and record how and when the lights change during the show. The Stage Manager, Sound Designer and Director choose and record how and when the music and sound effects are played during the show. The marriage of acting to tech, where the actors jump in dialogue necessary for stage management and “tech” to practice executing cues. Full run through of the play with actors and with Tech. Usually no stopping. Notes are given at the end of the run telling people how they can improve.
