PAST: 1800’S TO EARLY 1900’S
Infectious disease was leading cause of death
EX: polio, tuberculosis, pneumonia,
influenza (the flu)
PRESENT: 1900’S TO PRESENT TIME:
-Most health problems are associated with lifestyle
diseases
-Lifestyle disease is a disease
associated with choices you make
EX: some forms of diabetes,
cancer and heart disease
