Robot 354 Fatty Acid 2015, Case no: 12/2015 Open Tender Procedure Attachment 1 – Requirement Specification Attachment 1 – Requirement Specification – Automated Sample Preparation System for High-Throughput Analysis of Fatty Acids with GC-FID NIFES will invest in new sample preparation equipment for fatty acid analysis. We are looking for a new and fully automated sample preparation system that will give us a high throughput method for fatty acids. Our main goals with this investment is to get: 1. A fully automated sample preparation 2. A system that is highly efficient and can handle a large number of samples 3. A system that is precise, accurate and robust We want a system that can automate the sample preparation process starting from the original sample matrix and ending with fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) extracts ready for injection into a gas chromatograph (GC). The sample number is approximately 1000 samples per week, and the sample matrix will be tissue fluids and red blood cells. Our current method is presented in attachment 1a Procedure. The table of requirements given below states the Buyer’s requirements with regard to function, performance and dimensions of the system. The Supplier must describe how these requirements will be fulfilled. If the requirements cannot be fulfilled by the Supplier, this must be stated in the tender. The Supplier must give an extensive description of all the requirements so that the Parties will have a common understanding of what is to be delivered. The cells of the table may be expanded to give all the information necessary. Enclosures may also be used if necessary as long as it is referred to in the table. A yes or no answer will not be sufficient. No Buyer’s requirements 1 Please use Attachment 4 – Price, for prices in the tender. Give the price of the instrument, delivered at NIFES complete with all parts and up-and-running and functioning, include software and necessary training for the users. The tender price should include all costs to be incurred by the contractor. The instrument should be set up with an application for sample preparation on a red blood cell sample provided by NIFES. Samples must be heated to 100 °C for 1 hour. It is important that the samples are completely sealed to avoid evaporation and cross contamination under the heating process. Give suggestions to how the system may be altered, for us to be able to automate other methods in the future. The system must be robust and give reproducible results Give the possibility of adding a barcode reader to the system. State how the barcode reader would work and the increase in price by adding this module. Give the possibility of transferring the information from the barcodes to Labware LIMS or Chromeleon. Give the dimensions of the system, also the weight in kg. State if special considerations must be made for implementation/installing of the system. The system must be compatible with the Norwegian electrical plugs/sockets. The supplier must give the requirements for the installation site, e.g. ventilation, furniture, amount of space, etc. Propose measures to avoid exposure to solvents and hazardous chemicals (i.e. fume cupboards, ventilation, waste handling) while using the instrument. Specify included accessories, spare parts and service tools. Specify required consumables and spare parts. Give price and delivery time in Attachment 4 - Price. Specify consumables that can be purchased from other suppliers than the vendor in Attachment 4 - Price. Specify the extent and duration of the training. Software requirements Software to control the instrument must be provided. Give a list of alternative software to control the instrument with if possible. Instrument software compatible with LabWare LIMS, including sequence import and data export capability. The software must be able to hold several methods. Possibility to back-up data to external media, i.e. DVDRW. Available network port for connection to local network in addition to instrument connections. PC monitor – preferably LCD 24” or larger if recommended.
