Write the core words (#1-5) two times each.

Write five expanded sentences (5 or more words) using different core word (#1-5) in each
sentence. Underline the core word.

following chart into your notebook. Try listing at least 5 words that contain each spelling
pattern for /j/.

re-means back or again. The prefix un- means not or opposite of. Write what each of the
following words mean.

The word read can be pronounced 2 different ways. For instance:
1. Jake and his sister like to read before they go to sleep.
2. Alicia has read almost every Roald Dahl book in our library.
The word live can also be pronounced 2 different ways. Write 2 sentences using each
pronunciation of the word live. Underline live in both sentences.
