Spelling Tic-Tac-Toe First Grade Week 14 – Mark’s Big Day This sheet includes different activities to help your child practice his/her spelling words. Your child must choose at least one activity to complete for weekly homework. This takes the place of spelling flip-folders. If your child chooses to do three activities in a tic-tac-toe manner (activities chosen are in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line), they will be able to choose a small prize. Please mark your choices with crayon, marker, etc. Parents, please sign under the activity/activities your child chose for the week. If there are any materials to hand in, please send them with this sheet on day 4. Parents, you are encouraged to assist your child as needed to make homework a positive learning experience. Have fun! Spelling Words: far, farm, arm, art, part, park, chin, such, fly, watch Etch-A-Word – Use an Etch-A-Sketch to write your words. Picture Words – Draw a picture and write your words in the picture. Story Words – Write a short story using all your words. Words-in-Words – Write your words and then write at least two words made from the letters in each word. Cheer Your Words – Pretend you are a cheerleader and call out your words! Backwards Words – Write Telephone Words – your words forwards, then Translate your words into numbers from a telephone backwards. keypad Sidewalk Spelling – Use sidewalk chalk to write the words on the sidewalk or driveway.
