Brief resume of the intended work:
6.1 Need for the study of
Reproduction is a fundamental feature of all known life each individual
organism exists as the result of reproduction .It is the biological process by which
new “offspring” individual organisms are produced from their parents1
A childless marriage in India is often scorned at can be extra
humiliating for a women if she is one assumed to be infertile. The harsh fact that
often gets ignored is that infertility can occur in males and females .And that’s
why today we going explore the risks and causes of male infertility. Falling sperm
counts are a serious public health warning and the trend could be linked to diet,
different forms of tobacco consumption, lifestyle, stress and possible even tight
underwear a major French study has revealed. The study showed that sperm
counts and quality have fallen since the start of 1990’s.Between 1989 and 2005
average sperm counts fell by a third in the study of 26,000 men increasing risk of
infertility. The amount of healthy sperm was also reduced by a similar proportion2
Rasoushadis having quick action and better therapeutic effect with minimum
dose. Rasashastra texts have mentioned Kamadhenu and Panchamrita parpati
having vrushya property. Studies have been conducted on individual drug but
synergisim of these two may give better and potent therapeutic effect. Synergism
is facilitation of a pharmacological response by the concomitant use of two or
more drugs .This co-operation usually results in a total effect greater than the sum
of their independent actions.3
Hence the present study will be taken to assess the “Comparative
Evaluation Of Spermatogenic Activity Of Kamadhenu And Panchamrita
Parpati In Albino Rats ”
Review of literature
The detailed description of Kamadhenu in Bhaishajya Rathavali 4 as vajikar.
About Panchamrita parpati explained in Bhaishajya Rathavali

Rasendrasara
sangraha5 Rasa kamadenu6 ,Rasendra chintamani7 for vrishya, grahani roga,
jwara, etc .
1. The ingredients & method of preparation of Kamadhenu and Panchamrita
parpati will be followed according to Bhaishajya Rathnavali 4
2. Spermatogenic
activity will be evaluated according to the method of
estimation of concentration of spermatozoa in the cauda epididymis of
laboratory (Albino rats) animal 8
Previous study conducted:
1. Chemical analysis of Ashtavidh samskarita parad and it’s spermatogenic effect
in albino rats9
2. Analytical study of shodhita harital and harital bhasma and assessment of their
Spermatogenic activity on albino rats10
3.
Physico-chemical analysis and evaluation of spermatogenic activity of
Sawrnamakshika bhasma in albino rats11
4. Pharmaceutical and experimental study of Kamadhenu churna on its
vajikarana effect12
5.
Evaluation of spermatogenic activity of Panchamrita parpati in albino rats13
From above studies to provide economic, safe and potent medicine studies on
spermatogenetic activity is the need of day. Hence it has given an opportunity to
undertake “Comparative Evaluation Of Spermatogenic Activity Of Kamadhenu
And Panchamrita Parpati In Albino Rats ”
6.3 Objective of study.
1) To evaluate the spermatogenic activity of Kamadhenu with Panchamrita
parpati.
2) To assess the importance of combination in comparison with single drug
3) To assess the efficacy & provide an effective, economic, safe and potent
medicine for spermatogenic activity.
7. Material and methods.
