Cosmology - The study of the physical universe considered as a totality of phenomena in time and space.
Cognates - Related by blood; having a common ancestor
Kindred - A group of related persons, as a clan or tribe.
Filiation - The condition or fact of being the child of a certain parent
Endogamous - Marriage within a particular group in accordance with custom or law.
Psychoactive - Affecting the mind or mental processes. Used of a drug.
Anthropomorphic - Attribution of human motivation, characteristics, or behavior to inanimate objects,
animals, or natural phenomena.
Dichotomous - Divided or dividing into two parts or classifications
Dravidian Kinship – a terminology system in which the distinction between affines and consanguines is
erased for some relatives, due to a direct exchange marriage rule (cross-cousin marriage).
Brideservice – the practice of performing labor or other services for a man’s father-in-law in exchange for a
wife, in lieu of brideprice.

Onus - A difficult or disagreeable responsibility or necessity; a burden or an obligation.
Agnatic - Related on or descended from the father's or male side.
Euphemism - The act or an example of substituting a mild, indirect, or vague term for one considered
harsh, blunt, or offensive.
Progeny - One born of, begotten by, or derived from another; an offspring or a descendant.
Trousseaux - The possessions, such as clothing and linens, that a bride assembles for her marriage.
Root Paradigm – basic structure or blueprint for conceptualizing something (in this case, kinship model)
Intrinsic - Of or relating to the essential nature of a thing; inherent.
Abnegation - Self-denial.
Piecework - Work paid for according to the number of units turned out.
Conflation - To bring together; meld or fuse
Leek - An edible plant (Allium porrum) related to the onion and having a white, slender bulb and flat, darkgreen leaves.
