2. On a separate piece of paper, answer the following questions using COMPLETE
SENTENCES;
a.
In your own words, describe how earthquakes are caused and list all three types
of plate boundaries in which these earthquakes occur. (2 mks for quality of
response and inclusion of details)
b. In your own words, describe what geologists call the exact location within the
Earth at which the earthquake starts and the point on the surface above that
location. What is the difference between seismic waves and aftershocks?(2 mks
for quality of response and inclusion of details)
c.
What are the two types of seismic waves? Describe each one in detail. (2 mks
for quality of response and inclusion of details)
3. Using the information provided in your readings, colour and identify
the following three diagrams as earthquakes that occur at either;
Divergent Boundaries, Convergent Boundaries or Earthquakes that
occur at Transform Fault Boundaries
You will be marked out of 5 for your ability to complete the diagrams,
with all relevant information in a neat and colorful fashion, as well as
be able to identify each of the following diagrams as either;
Earthquakes at Divergent Boundaries, Earthquakes at Convergent
Boundaries or Earthquakes at Transform Fault Boundaries
