Hello! Glad to see you. Today we'll go on working with verbals and repeat all
grammar material about Infinitive and Gerund. It's time to start.
II. Infinitive.
a)T. (вопросы классу):
1 .What is "verbals" called in Russian?
2. What verbals are there in English?
3. What verbals do you know?
4. What is "Infinitive" called in Russian?
5. What forms does Infinitive have?
6.Now, tell the functions of Infinitive.
7. What is "Complex Object" called in Russian?
8. What does it consist of?
9. Name the verbs for Complex Object with "to".
10. Name the verbs for Complex Object without
"to".
b)l. Now let's do some exercises. Look at the
blackboard and do them. Your task is to choose
the right answer.
2. Would you like to translate some sentences
with infinitive and Complex Object? But some
students will paraphraze the sentences using
infinitive.

Plans for future
a)Angela Duffy is a schoolgirl from Brighton. She
wants to be a doctor. "I'm going to medical school
next year. It's a long course- but I'm going to work
very hard. It's a difficult job,but I like working with
people, and I like the idea of working in a caring
profession." She says that later she would like to
specialize and perhaps be a paediatrian. "I love
children, and looking after them would be wonderful."
b)Pippa Wilson is stydying marketing at university.
She enjoys travelling, and would probably like to
work for a tour company. "I'm not sure yet exactly
what I want to do. After university, I'm going to have
a year off, and I'm going round the world with another
girl. We hope to find work on the way."
c)Steve Barnes wants to be a chef. His favourite
room in the house is the kitchen, where he spends
most of the day. "I love cooking, especially for lots of
people. I have over a hundred cook books." He's going
to work in a restaurant in Paris, where he hopes to
learn how to prepare sauses. "English people really
don't know how to cook imaginatively," he says, "but
we have the best ingredients in the world. One day I'd
like to have my own restaurant."

4.Go on working with the text "The day I
came face to face with a tiger."
Last year I went to Nepal for 3 months to work
in a hospital.I think it's important to see as
much countries as you can, but it is difficult to
travel around Nepal. The hospital let me have a
few days' holiday, so I decided to go into the
jungle and I asked a Nepalese guide, Kamal
Rai, to go with me.
We started preparing for the trip at six in the
morning, and left camp witn two elephants
carrying our equipment. It was hot, but Kamal
made me wear shoes and trousers to protect me
from snakes. In the jungle there was a lot of
wildlife, but we were trying to find big cats,
especially tigers. We climbed onto the
elephants' backs to get a better view,but it is
unusual to find tigers in the afternoon because
they sleep in the heat of the day. Then, in the
distance, we saw a tiger, and Kamal told me to
be very quiet. We crept nearer and found a
dead deep, still bleeding. This was the tiger's
lunch! Suddenly I started to feel very
frightened.
We heard the tiger a second before we saw it. It
jumped out like a flash of lightning, five
hundred kilos plus and four metres long. I
looked into its eyes and face, and saw right
down the animal's throat, It grabbed Kamal's
leg between its teeth, but I managed to pull
Kamal away. One of our elephants ran at the
tiger and made it go back into the grass, so we
quickly escaped to let the tiger eat its lunch.
That night it was impossible to sleep!
