LEC Modified Year 8 Science - Term 3 (3 weeks) Unit: Plant Systems (3 Weeks) LEARNING GOAL Students. Describe different plant structures and their role. SUCCESS CRITERIA RESOURCES For the students to complete the work to the best of their ability. 1. Student is able to name the parts of a plant and describe the role of that part including: - Roots - Root hairs - Trunk/stem - Branches - Leaves - Flowers - Fruit Board notes ‘Plant Structure’ Construct a diagrammatic representation of a flower. 2. Accurately label a diagram of a flower showing petals, male and female parts and sepals . Flower diagram Describe the process of sexual reproduction of a flowering plant. 3. Describe the process of pollination. Board notes ‘Plant reproduction’ 4. Define and list pollinators. 5. Describe the process of fertilisation. Construct a diagrammatic representation of the growth cycle of a plant. 6.
