Unit 1: Scientific Method and Measurement
Be able to:
- Tell if a statement is a hypothesis or a prediction
- Identify the independent variable, dependent variable, and controlled
variables in an experiment
- Convert between units in the metric system
- Convert between SI(metric) and English units
Unit 2: States of Matter/Density
Be able to:
- Define matter
- Define and differentiate solids, liquids, and gases in terms of shape and
volume
- Compare the particle motion in solids, liquids, and gases
- Explain what plasma is and where it is found on Earth and in the universe
- State and apply Boyle’s Law
- Describe the changes between states of matter
- Calculate the density of a substance
- Compare substances based on their densities
Unit 3: Atoms & Periodic Table
Be able to:
