... Biotin labelling interferes with the hybridisation C & T (pyrimidines) are labelled. So GC* binds less strongly than CG, and AT* binding is weaker than TA. If the probe contains no C & T, it will hybridise well but with no fluorescence. If you have all C & T, it will have difficulty ...

... Traits that are affected by more than one gene are called polygenic traits. The genes that affect a polygenic trait may be closely linked on a chromosome, unlinked on a chromosome, or on different chromosomes. Polygenic traits are often difficult for geneticists to track because the polygenic trait ...

Epigenetics of diabetes Type 2

In recent years it has become apparent that the environment and underlying mechanisms affect gene expression and the genome outside of the central dogma of biology. It has been found that many Epigenetic mechanisms are involved in the regulation and expression of genes such as DNA methylation and chromatin remodeling. These epigenetic mechanisms are believed to be a contributing factor to pathological diseases such as Diabetes type II. An understanding of the epigenome of Diabetes patients may help to elucidate otherwise hidden causes of this disease.
