To examine this possibility we spiked the ATAD extracts with pGEM-TA plasmid vector DNA and found that the spiked DNA was degraded upon incubation at 65°C. This indicated that there were thermostable nucleases present which would be particular ...

... The primary characteristics of globular proteins are their native structures and sequences of amino acids. An evolutionary divergence from a common ancestor may lead diverse sequences to fold to nearly the same native structure. One particularly interesting example is citrate synthase (CS), an enzym ...

QPNC-PAGE

QPNC-PAGE, or quantitative preparative native continuous polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis, is a high-resolution technique applied in biochemistry and bioinorganic chemistry to separate proteins by isoelectric point. This standardized variant of native gel electrophoresis is used by biologists to isolate active or native metalloproteins in biological samples and to resolve properly and improperly folded metal cofactor-containing proteins or protein isoforms in complex protein mixtures.
