... obtaining a mixed solution of stoichiometric quantities of Mg(NO3)2•6H2O, Zn(NO3)2•6H2O, and ferric citrate FeC6H5O7•H2O. The ratio of metal ions to anhydrous citric acid (C6H8O7) used is 1:3. Ammonia hydroxide is used for correcting the pH rate up to 6. The obtained solution is heated at 80°C. Sole ...

... transition rates of aluminum (Al) are measured for collisions with 3 He. The experiment employs a clean method using a single pump/probe laser to measure the steady-state magnetic sublevel population resulting from the competition of optical pumping and inelastic collisions. The collision ratio γ is ...

Physically, this prevents energy removal from an excitation volume and leads to singularly increased fields ...

Magnetic circular dichroism

Magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) is the differential absorption of left and right circularly polarized (LCP and RCP) light, induced in a sample by a strong magnetic field oriented parallel to the direction of light propagation. MCD measurements can detect transitions which are too weak to be seen in conventional optical absorption spectra; they can also probe paramagnetic properties and the symmetry of the electronic levels of the studied systems, such as metal ion sites.
