Coordinated Interaction between Hippocampal Sharp
Coordinated Interaction between Hippocampal Sharp

However, little is known about how ACC activity is influenced by hippocampal ripple activity during sleep. We report here about coordinated interactions between hippocampal ripple activity and ...

Neuronal Processing of Chemical Information in Crustaceans Chapter 7

... Crustaceans detect chemicals with small cuticular sense organs called sensilla. Crustacean chemoreceptive sensilla – in spite of their diversity in outer structure – fall in two main classes: (a) Bimodal sensilla are innervated by 1–3 mechanoreceptor neurons (MRNs) and 1–22 chemoreceptor neurons (CR ...

... Clearly, integrins can only stimulate axon regeneration if they are present in the axon at the site of damage. In the current study, we have asked whether integrins are transported into sensory axons including DRG and retinal ganglia neurons (RGCs), and into several types of adult neurons including ...

α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor

... Background: Although evidence suggests that the prevalence of Parkinson’s disease (PD) is lower in smokers than in non-smokers, the mechanisms of nicotine-induced neuroprotection remain unclear. Stimulation of the α7 nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (α7-nAChR) seems to be a crucial mechanism underly ...

Multielectrode array

Multielectrode arrays (MEAs) or microelectrode arrays are devices that contain multiple plates or shanks through which neural signals are obtained or delivered, essentially serving as neural interfaces that connect neurons to electronic circuitry. There are two general classes of MEAs: implantable MEAs, used in vivo, and non-implantable MEAs, used in vitro.
