Honors Biology Cell / Organelle Project
You need to make a set of notes explaining the differences between different cell types
and describe the organelles typically found in cells. For each term, you need to include a
picture/drawing, and describe its structure and function. Here is a list of the cell types
and organelles you must include.
Cell Types
Prokaryotic Cells versus Eukaryotic Cells
Plant cells versus Animal cells
Organelles
Nucleus
Endoplasmic Reticulum, smooth and rough
Ribosomes
Golgi apparatus
Mitochondria
Lysosomes
Centrosome / centrioles
Vesicles
Microfilaments and Microtubules
Cillia and Flagella
This project may be done as traditional Cornell style notes or you may wish to do a flip
book. Be creative and have fun, you may use another format as long as you get it
approved by me first. The final project may not be a computer file or PowerPoint
presentation, it must be a hardcopy to be submitted for grading. The project is worth 60
homework points and is due Monday 9-15-08.
