If you have ever needed to work from your home PC and access the Legion’s Citrix system remotely
via home broadband or similar, you will currently use what is known as the Legion’s Citrix Web
Interface.
As part of our ongoing work to improve the quality of IT systems we’re shortly going to be upgrading
this Citrix Web Interface software to the latest version and the instructions for doing this are shown
below.
This will only affect users connecting to Citrix ”Thin Client” from outside the RBL network, from
your home PC/laptop for example. You don’t need to do anything to your Legion PC in the office.
Most of the options and features of the new web interface are similar to use as in the current
version. Visually there are some cosmetic differences, screen shots of the same screen in the old and
new systems below.
You connect to the new web interface in the same way as old one at
https://tsgw.britishlegion.org.uk - however if you have created a favourite (under
Internet Explorer) pointing to the old interface address, you may need to re-create your
shortcut.
We will be making these changes on Sunday 7th April.
After the changes, on browsing to https://tsgw.britishlegion.org.uk , you will be presented with a
slightly different screen shown below:
New web interface:-
Whilst the old web interface used to look like this:-
The following popup message may appear prompting you to install a new client, if so please select
the “I agree” checkbox and press the “Install” button:-
Then, when prompted to “run or save” the file, please select “run” to continue
If the new client has not downloaded properly and asks you to download it again, then please
proceed with removing the existing Citrix client (from Control Panel- Programs and Features in
Windows 7 or Add/Remove Programs- Windows XP) and then go back to
http://tsgw.britishlegion.org.uk to download and run it again.
