RGHS Citrix Connection for IE, Firefox, Safari or Chrome browsers
(on a Windows PC)
Minimum OS Requirements
Windows XP SP2 or better
Minimum Web Browser Platform
Internet Explorer 6.0 or better
Firefox 3.0 or better
Safari 3.0 or better
Chrome 3.0 or better
If you use a web browser other than these, you will have to follow the instructions on
installing the “Dazzle Client” (located at http://extranet.rochestergeneral.org/citrix/help)
First time connections
If you have not connected through Citrix before from your computer you will need to install the
client on your computer.
If you already have the client installed (regardless of what web browser you use), you can skip
the client installation instructions and skip ahead to the connection instructions.
How to Install the Client and Connect
Installing the client
1. Navigate to http://extranet.rochestergeneral.org/citrix/help
2. In the left window pane, locate the “Client Downloads”
group in the “Microsoft Windows” section. (see Figure 1)
3. If you are prompted to save the file, choose “Save File”
4. Once the “CitrixOnlinePluginWeb.exe” application is
finished downloading, double-click on the downloaded file
to launch the installation.

5. Once the installation has begun you should see a progress bar followed by a new message
window informing you that the “Installation Complete Successfully”.
Note: If you received an error, please refer to the “client troubleshooting” section at the
end of this document.
6. Once the installation wizard has finished successfully, you can now connect through our
Citrix portal.
Connecting to the RGHS Citrix Website
1. Open your web browser and connect to the following address:
http://remote.rochestergeneral.org
2. Log in with your RGHS network username and password.
3. You will now see the icons of any published application(s) located on the applications tab
(this view will vary from person to person). Simply click on the application you wish to
access and your connection will initiate (sometimes it can take up to 20 seconds for the
secure connection to establish).
Note: If you clicking on the “Content” tab, there will be an icon named “Client Help
Page”. This will take you to the RGHS Citrix Help website (if your web browser blocks
pop-ups this link may not work)
Troubleshooting Client Installation Issues
Problem: Error during the client installation process
You may have a previous version of the client installed and there is a problem upgrading the
existing Citrix client.
Solution: Uninstall existing Citrix client(s), reboot and retry the install process
Go to the Control Panel on your computer.
If you have windows XP, open up “Add/Remove programs”
If you have Vista or Windows 7, open “Programs and Features” (listed under the programs
grouping in the control panel) and choose the option to “uninstall a program”
Uninstall any programs related to Citrix (ie Citrix ICA client, Citrix XenApp Web plugin,etc)
Reboot your computer and attempt to install the client again (the process at the top of this
document)
