BS 562 Protein Design
Fall, 2015
Lecturer: Hak-Sung Kim
Course description
Ultimate goal in protein engineering/design is to create the protein/enzyme with desired property. To achieve
this, it is prerequisite to understand structure-function relations as well as basic knowledge on protein
chemistry. This course will deal with the fundamental aspects of protein including basic protein chemistry,
mechanism of action, protein folding, and protein evolution. In addition, recent progresses in protein design
method will be introduced including structure-based rational design, directed evolution, and computational
approach.
