Aerobic vs. Anaerobic Exercise
Aerobic exercise is when the body supplies oxygen to the muscles being exercised all the
time. A person’s heart rate will stayed at an increased level for the entire exercise time
during aerobic activity. The main physical benefit to aerobic exercise is the improvement
in endurance of the heart and lungs. Jogging is an example of aerobic exercise.
Anaerobic exercise is when the body runs out of oxygen for the muscle during the
exercise. Most anaerobic exercise is when somebody does short or explosive activities.
The main physical benefit to anaerobic exercise is the improvement in muscle strength.
