Full sun. A true delight. 16-18” Early January MONAL 2 Y-O Strong, overlapping yellow petals contrast with a large deep orange straight cup. Monal likes garden soil and does best with afternoon shade. Feed well! Doesn’t fade. Will grow anywhere Carlton grows. 16” February-March AVALANCHE 8 W-Y A striking, tall mid-season bloomer with 15 or more florets per stem. Sweetly scented. Multiplies. 16-18” Early March To Gainesville, FL NIR 8 W-W Pure white tazetta with moderate fragrance. Good garden size. Needs dry summer - water end of August. Comes from Israel 14-16” November AUTUMN COLORS 8 W-Y, W-W mixture Bill Welch seedling BRIDAL CROWN 4 W-Y Erect, mid-green leaves and clusters of fragrant, double, white to cream flowers with yellow centers. Dependable. 14” One of the last to bloom. CARLTON 2 Y-Y Large cup. It has a sweet fragrance rather like vanilla. This flower should be the backbone of your daffodil bed. Multiplies. Circa 1927 16” February CEYLON- 2 Y-O It is a modern mid February bloomer, strong yellow flower – has a orange cup with a red rim. Good in semi shade- 14-16 inches tall- strong bloomer- smaller than Monal and does not fade. ERLICHEER 4 W-W (pronounced early cheer) This double white has 12-15 florets per stem. Exceptionally fragrant. Good for Coastal and Central Florida. Full sun. 10-12” February GOLDEN DAWN 8 Y-O Dark orange, sun proof cup. Our most prolific daffodil! 2-3 flowers per stem, with tall, narrow foliage. Makes sturdy clumps. Late afternoon shade brings out the color, but can take full sun. Early March. ICE FOLLIES 2 W-W Petals are creamy white with very large flat frilled cup which opens bright yellow and gradually fades to white. Large, slow to multiply. 16” Early March ITZIM 7 Y-O Medium-size yellow flower, swept back petals long trumpet – slowly turns bright orange with cold weather – full sun or afternoon shade. Up to 12” Early March Picture NONY 8 W-Y 6-10 white flowers with pale yellow cups. Medium height; light fragrance. Slow to multiply. Good for Coastal and Central Florida. 10-12” January SILVER CHIMES 8 W-W White petals shine, with pale yellow cup that fades to white. Large flower head, very erect with dark leaves that tend to curl. Loves heat & sand. Cup fades in sun. 1916 12-14” Early March To Gainseville SWEETNESS 7 Y-Y Small perfect yellow flower. Multiplies stiff formal foliage – historic - needs full sun. Good for Gainesville area. 12-24” February SOLEIL D’OR 8 Y-O Yellow petals with yellow cup that turns to a bright orange-red on rather tall stems. Glows in the dull winter light. Needs full sun. To Central Florida . 1770! 10-12” January TRESAMBLE 5 W-W Medium sized flowers have swept back petals with cream cups that fade to white. It multiplies and prefers afternoon shade. 1930 12” March TREVITHIAN 7 Y-Y 2-3 deep yellow, 2” flat cup flowers per stem, wonderful fragrance. Good border plant. Multiplies. 16-20” Early March All daffodils above have been grown successfully in the Van Beck garden for over 20 years. NOTE: Each flower has a number for the division of the daffodil. The color code lists the petal first and then the cup. W=white, O=orange, Y=yellow, P=pink
