CARLTON BURGESS is an award winning
song writer, composer, musician and singer
who’s talents typifies God’s anointing and
gifting. For as long as he can remember,
music has been a part of his life. From local
churches to national concert halls Carlton’s
gift note worthy offerings.
Carlton’s talents have enhanced the music
ministry of churches all over the country as
he conducts workshops, seminars and
lectures on the essentials of Praise and
Worship as well as musical performance and
management. He has also served as a staff
musician, minister of Music and in musical
pastorate in churches locally and nationally.
Under his leadership, Carlton has the unique
gifting, ability and foresight to nurture
choirs to new levels of music ministry,
worship and even audio outreach and
recording.
His vision takes him beyond the concert hall
and church to reach young people giving
them the opportunity to birth talent and
unwrap the gifts that they may have never
realized if someone didn’t believed in them
enough to nurture the untapped potential.
He facilitates that opportunity thorough the
Burgess Music Group, a fully staffed music
studio offering vocal and instrumental
training as well as other art forms.
Additionally, he conducts a summer camp
for youth and children that conclude with a
music production and recital allowing both
burgeoning and trained students to
showcase their talents. This project has also
birthed a string ensemble comprised of
hopeful violinist.
An artist at heart, there is a philanthropic
dimension to Carlton’s vision and talent; in
the early part of the new millennia he
heeded God’s bidding to do outreach to the
homeless. Weekly, Carlton and his mother
along with a limited staff fix bagged lunches
for those less fortunate. While some of the
funds and food is donated, a great majority
comes from the pockets of Burgess. This
year Carlton produced Solitude, a collection
of his favorite hymns; the proceeds from this
project benefits the scholarship fund
allowing young people to take music lessons
or participate in the summer camp.
A Tampa native, Carlton now expands his
vision to South Africa and surrounding
areas. This project has already been well
received by the young people who are eager
to enhance their gifts.
October 2008,
marked opening of with the opening of the
Burgess Music Academy with two more
academies to open in Cape Town and
another location to be determined.
Currently, Carlton serves as Executive
Director for the Burgess Music Group in
Tampa and continues to travel the nationally
and internationally using his God given
talent for God’s people encouraging them to
utilize their talent, perfect their praise and
seek a God who has done marvelous things.
He performed a concert entitled “Songs From
God” in Tokyo, Japan December 27, 2009. He
has successfully toured Europe and West Africa.
His Hymn Lovers Tour debuted in Springfield,
