(G, H, P) 7.26 Draw evidence from informational texts to analyze the contributions made during the Ming Dynasty such as building projects, including the Forbidden City and the reconstruction of the Great Wall , isolationism, and sea voyages. (C, E, H, P) Japan 7.27 Compare the major features of Shinto, Japan’s indigenous religion, and Japanese Buddhism. (C, H) 7.28 Explain the influence of China and the Korean peninsula upon Japan as Buddhism, Confucianism, and the Chinese writing system were adopted. I can describe the Mongol conquests of China by Genghis Khan and Kublai Khan. I can use informational text to analyze the contributions made by the Ming Dynasty to building projects such as the Forbidden city and reconstruction of the Great Wall, isolationism, and sea voyages. I can compare the features of Shinto, Japan’s indigenous religion, and Japanese Buddhism. I can explain how China and the Korean peninsula influenced Japan. Accommodations for students, both regular and special populations : I will make hard copies of all texts for students who need them. Students will be given guided notes for each standard. I will allow students to participate in class and group talks about articles before writing. I will allow students to participate in class, small group and elbow buddies to talk about text based questions.
