Multiplying
When the two factors
(numbers that you multiply)
have the SAME sign,
then the product
(answer to a multiplication question)
is POSITIVE.
Dividing
When the dividend
(1st or top number)
and the divisor

have the SAME sign,
the quotient
(answer to a division question)
is POSITIVE
When the two factors
have the DIFFERENT signs,
then the product
is NEGATIVE.
When the dividend
and the divisor
have the DIFFERENT signs,
the quotient
is NEGATIVE

For Multiplying and Dividing
more than 2 numbers… if there
is an EVEN number of negative
signs, then the answer is
POSITIVE. If there are an
ODD number of negative
signs, then the answer is
NEGATIVE.
-7 * -3 * -4 * +8 ÷ -2 = positive
-3 * -2 * +5 * -3 ÷ +9 = negative
