4. IO= Indirect Object
(answers “to whom?” or “for whom?” after verb)
5. SC = Subject Complement
(“completes” or complements the subject)
 PA = Predicate Adjective
(follows LV to describe the subject)
 PN = Predicate Noun
(noun that follows LV to equal the subject)
Verb Notes
AV = Action Verb
(shows an action OR transfer of energy)
LV = Linking Verb
(shows state of being refers back to the subject)
TRANS = Transitive Verb
INTRANS = Intransitive Verb
(an action verb that has a DO)
