Mercator Shows correct shapes and directions, but not true distances or sizes. Mercator maps make areas near the poles look bigger then they are. Robinson Shows correct size and shape of most land areas. Distortions, especially around edges of the map. Entire top edge of map is the North Pole. Entire bottom edge of map is the South Pole.
