ORIGINS OF SETTLEMENTS ► Religious ► Cultural - graves, churches, temples - schools, libraries ► Political/Military ► Economic - leader’s house, walls - stores, food TYPES OF SETTLEMENTS ► Rural Settlements - agriculture as the predominant occupation. ► Urban settlements - principal industries are secondary and tertiary.
