Focus 3/11 The Renaissance began in Italy and was a time of creativity in Western Europe. A central idea of the Renaissance was humanism, which focused on the individual. During this time there was a renewed interest in antiquity or Greek and Roman ideas. Point for Discussion: How is humanism different than Confucianism?
