wanted for murder.
Caravaggio (Michelangelo Merisel)
was born in 1571
Caravaggio died in 1610
In 1605 he had to flee Rome for
stabbing a man over a women.
In 1606 he killed a friend in a sword
fight, because of a score in a tennis
match.

architect, painter,

and a theater
designer.
He was brilliant wit
and caricaturist.
Public fountains,
religious art, and
design of St Peter’s
left his mark on the
face of Rome.
Gianlorenzo Bernini was born in 1589
He died in 1610 collapsed on a beach
Cause by misfortune, exhaustion and
illness.

Why these artist were a good
example of Baroque style in my
opinion.
These two artists both
exaggerated motion and clear,
easily interpreted detail.
They both produce drama,
tension, exuberance, and
grandeur from sculpture,
painting, literature, and music.
Their styles both started
around 1600 in Rome, Italy
and spread to most of Europe
Their popularity and success
of the Baroque was
encouraged by the Catholic
Church.
