Deciduous forests can be found in Eastern Half of North America, Middle of Europe, and Asia. Some of the major areas that they are in are southwest Russia, Japan, and eastern China. There are also some deciduous forests located in New Zealand, and southeastern Australia. There are many types of plants in the Deciduous Forest ranging in from big trees to mushrooms. Many of the plants adapt to the forest life. The plants usually provide for the animals for food, they will test the plants out to see if its good to eat or not. Not only does the plant provide for the animals they also provide for themselves. Some Plants you may come along by in the forest: American Beech, Carpet Moss, Common Lime, Guelder Rose, Lady Fern, Northern Arrowwood, Pecan, Shagbark Hickory, Tawny Milksap Mushroom, White Birch, and last but not least White Oak. There are many types of animals in the deciduous forest ranging from mammals like deer to bugs like mosquitoes. Many of the animals are either nut and acorn feeders, or omnivores. Many of the animals have adapted to forest life. Some of them hibernate during the winter months. List of some animals you might see: American Bald Eagle, American Black Bear,Coyote,Duckbill Platypus Eastern Chipmunk, European Red Squirrel, Fat Dormouse, Least Weasel, White tailed Deer. The Weather to Expect in the Deciduous Forest Biome. The range of temperature is anywhere from 23 ° north to 38 ° south. This Biome has all four seasons: Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. Most summers in this biome are mild ; up to 70°F. The Winter temperatures are a little below freezing point. During fall all the leaves change color and some animals begin to hibernate or migrate away before winter arrives.
