Soils and Land-Use Research Workshop Dr. Brian Donlon EPA Research Programme Alexander Hotel Dublin Sept 10th 2013 Talk Content EPA Research Programme (3 Pillars) Focus on Sustainable Environment Pillar Focus of Workshop EPA Research Plans 2014-2020 Soils and Land-Use & Landcover Soils and Land-Use Research Objective The overall aim of these research areas are to: “help to protect and ensure a sustainable use of soil by getting a better understanding of soil and its functions and by preventing the threats to soil and mitigating their effects.
