5. Ethical reasoning is reasoning about right and wrong human
conduct. In community settings, complex and challenging situations
often arise where one is required to make an ethical decision in order
to respond, for example:
You observe a supervising teacher
making fun of a child; You are assigned to work with an agency
(e.g. Planned Parenthood) whose mission contradicts your core
values; You see an employee of the organization falsifying data for
personal financial gain. Indicate to what extent each of the following
statements represents how you would normally respond in such a

17. Of all the courses that you have taken in your major,
which have been the best and why?

I am not sure I could pick just one, but I would say my Anthro of Religion class, also I was
almost talked into taking it as I am not a very religious person. But it has been a very eye
opening class.
Linguistics was an awesome course extremely informative and engaging another great class
was peoples and cultures of africa
The best one I took was a transfer elective course called 'Arab Society' during my study abroad
in Morocco. This class substituted "Comparative Muslim Cultures" within my major. It was an
excellent anthropology elective because I learned about different topics within the 'Arab' world
and enriched my study abroad experience.
Anthropology of Hiphop, Anthropology of Religion, and Physical Anthropology. The professors
for each class (Hargrove, Lukens-Bull, and Kephart, respectively) were obviously passionate
about the topics.
People and Culutres of the World, provides a solid foundation for the understanding and respect
one should have for other cultures.
Jaxscapes with Dr. Rakita, because he taught us how to be applied anthropologists and analyze
data.
18. Of all the courses that you have taken outside your
major, which have been the best and why?

Intro to Philosophy with Dr.Fenner! His class changed my life and my major... I owe this man
everything.
Yoga because it's the best
Comparative Religion was the best course outside of my major because I really enjoy learning
about different religions, and it was a good introductory course to it.
Gender, Sexuality, & Culture; Major Authors: Zora Neale Hurston; and Human Sexual Behavior.
The Hurston class was wonderful because it was great to see Hurston not only as an
anthropologist but as a writer of great literature as well. Human Sexual Behavior is fascinating
and enjoyable, and Gender, Sexuality, & Culture has been a great supplement to further honing
my critical thinking and analysis skills.
