LEARNING AND PROGRESS PLAN Biology Unit 1: Lessons 6 -10 What will I be learning about? In this unit you learn about theories that explain organisms become adapted to their environments. Evolution How can science explain why giraffes have long neck? You will explore Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection and examine evidence that support the theory. Genes & Inheritance You will also study how information is passed from parent to off-spring through genetic inheritance; genetic disorders will be explored. Why can some people roll their tongue, when other can’t ? Genetic Disorders ASSESSMENT In this unit your core assessment will be an end of unit test. Your practical laboratory skills will be assessed during lessons.
