Alcohols – have a hydroxyl (OH) functional group EX/ methanol (grain), ethanol (drinking), isopropanol (rubbing) Organic Acids – have a carboxyl functional group (COOH); weak acids EX/ methanoic acid (stinging ants), ethanoic acid (aka acetic acid) Aromatics – have ring structures EX/ benzene (ringed alkene)
