Plant Parts:
What do different plant parts do?
Roots
Stem
Roots act like straws absorbing
water and minerals from the soil.
They make seeds so
we can grow new plants.
Stems do many things. They
support the plant. They keep
the plant in the soil. It also
collects moisture from the soil.
Leaf
Flower
Most plants' food is made in their
leaves. It carries moisture and
food to all parts of the plant.
This part makes food for the
plant from the sun's rays and
carbon dioxide.
Life Cycle of a Plant
First the seed is
planted.
Next the seed is
cared for with
water and sunlight.
Last the seed becomes
a healthy plant.
