Physical Science Week 15
Force & Motion
Monday Warm Up (127)
• Kira jogs 72 m away in a time of 36 s.
What is Kira’s average speed?
• If you walk 7.5 km in 1.5 h, what is your
average speed?
Assignment
• Newton’s law power point – completion
• Newton’s law – choice board activity. Type
in MS Word or put at end of ppt.
Newton’s Laws
• Make a power point with the 4 laws (1, 2,
3, and universal gravitation)
• Include pictures with explanations of how it
shows each law.
• Include how the laws apply in each of the
lab stations we completed Monday and
Tuesday.
Tuesday Warm Up (127)
• A plane passes over point A at a velocity of
240 m/s north. 40 seconds later the plane
passes over point B at 260 m/s north.
What is the plane’s average acceleration?
• Hint: look up formula for average
acceleration in IAN.
Force & Motion Lab Stations
Wednesday Warm Ups (127)
• If your weight is 12 N on earth and your
mass is 150 kg, what is your mass and
weight on the moon if the gravity there is
1/6 the gravity found on earth?
Force & Motion Cafe
• Choose one appetizer, one entrée, and
one dessert.
Thursday Warm Up (127)
• A marble rests on top of a tall building. The
marble falls and hits the ground in 4.5
seconds. What is the marble’s velocity at
the time it hits the ground?
• Hint: What is acceleration due to gravity?
