Planets and Stars Differences and
Similarities
Where you will learn more than you
ever imagined. The stuff you’ll learn will
blow you away , IT’S ABSOULETELY OUT
OF THIS GALAXY!
Planets the Solar System’s Best Friend
In our Solar System there are 8 planets Mercury. Venus,
Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Uranus, and Neptune. Theses
planets in some ways are very similar to the stars but in
other way they might be more different then you might
think. In our solar system we have planets that are big
but not as big as the stars. Our planets orbit one big star
in fact it’s the only star in our solar system. . . THE SUN!
Each of our planets are made out of different materials
for example earth is made out of dirt, rock some gas, and
water, but Jupiter is a gas planet so that means it is made
all out of gas. So each of our planets look different
because of the different atmosphere’s and some of them
have no atmosphere at all. From Earth the stars are way
farther away than any of the other planets.

Stars The Light of the Night
In our Solar System there are billions of stars, these
stars are way hotter than any of the planets even
Mercury which is the closest to the sun. Even more
impressive is that even the average stars are bigger
than Jupiter and Jupiter is the biggest planet in the
Solar System. Each of the different stars have different
colors most of them to you appear white or yellow. But
to tell you the truth some of the stars are blue, green,
yellow, orange, and even red. What’s cool is blue is the
hottest color and rd is actually the coldest. From earth
if you tried to look at a star they are almost too small
to see but if you look at the other planers they will
appear bigger and shine brighter than the stars.

Stars and Planets Could They Be
Similar?
• Both the planets and stars are huge! There sizes are
quite different when you compare their sizes but they
are both amazingly big. Stars and Planets can both be
made of gasses, actually that is what makes a star grow
its gas. Also if you were to look up into the night sky
you can see little balls of light these could be 2 things
they could actually be planets or stars. So you can see
both in the night sky. You probably knew that earth
along with other planets have cores but did you know
stars have them too. Well that is a similarity most
people wouldn’t know right off the top of their head.
The last similarity which I think is the most interesting
is they both orbit something. Believe it or not both
planets and stars orbit something in their solar system.
