The mouth has a job of grinding the food into tiny little pieces . That then gets pushed down by saliva to pass into the Oesophagus. Oesophagus The oesophagus is a soft ,thin tube which carries mashed, sludgy food down into the stomach! Food particles mix with stomach acid enzymes to break down even smaller. Most of the digestion takes place here! Liver! The liver produces bile that takes good things out of the food we eat . It will use nutrients from food to make building blocks for the body.
