Athenian Democracy Skit!
With your group you will create a series of 3 short skits:
 Scene 1: The Assembly (debate and vote)
 Scene 2: Council of 500 (lottery and meeting agenda)
 Scene 3: Athenian Court (jury trial)
Your skits MUST:
 Be roughly 6-9 minutes long (2-3 minutes per scene)
 Accurately show how each of the pillars allowed Athenians to participate in
democracy.
 Include all members of your group
 Have a script (so everyone knows what to do/say)
 Be rehearsed (look up from your script, face the audience, speak loud and clear, act out scenes, create or bring props)
 Be performed for the class
*Use your notes and textbook to find information
You will write your script in a Google Doc that is shared with each
group member. When you are finished, you will print a copy for each
person.

As this is a group project, you will be assigned a group mark. As such, it is important that you select
people you will work well with. If a group member is not contributing, this should be brought to my
attention early in the project, not immediately before your presentation or after you receive your mark.
