built around children’s books. You can experience
many of the characters and settings from Swedish
children’s author Astrid Lindgren’s stories, and even
meet other book characters and watch children’s
theatre! Junibacken’s mission is “to ensure that
children’s books are always an important part of
children’s culture”. That’s why when we’re creating
exhibitions and thinking up theatrical performances,
we always base them on children’s books. By
stepping into the world of children’s stories we hope
to generate interest in books, encourage reading,
and in particular, inspire parents to read aloud to their
children. And it should be fun! Our exhibitions are
built to withstand a lot of play.
