FUELSAVER Dual-Phase Biocide for Gasoline, Diesel, Biodiesel, and Heating Oil FUELSAVER qualifies for the USA EPA 40CFR80.591A certification, meaning the product contains <15 ppm sulfur and making it compatible with ULSD. Features: FUELSAVER is an economical, EPA-registered, dual-phase liquid biocide for use in fuel tanks of farm, marine, fleet, and mining equipment, as well as all gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, and heating oil storage tanks. FUELSAVER is registered as an on-road diesel fuel additive. A dual-phase biocide is the most effective and desirable choice because it kills bacteria and fungi, which are present in both the fuel and in the water bottoms. Minimum storage temperature for FUELSAVER is 50°F. FUELSAVER offers powerful performance at an economical treat cost. Applications: Provide dual-phase effectiveness, killing microbes in both fuel and water. Protects fuels from a broad spectrum of both bacteria and slime-producing fungi. Kills microbes in 4 to 72 hours, depending upon the severity of infestation. Helps prevent sludge formation and filter plugging due to microbial activity, reducing downtime. Helps prevent corrosion in tank and fuel system due to microbial growth, reducing maintenance costs. Revised 1/2/15. Subject to change without notice. 253 Recommended Use: To kill and control the growth of problem microorganisms associated with the fuel. Biocide treatment is indicated whenever testing shows unacceptable levels of microbes in the fuel water bottoms. The best way to limit microbial activity is to monitor tanks regularly and drain water bottoms. Allow treated storage tank to remain out of service for a minimum of 4 hours (preferably 3 to 5 days). Filter replacement may be necessary to remove “dead bugs” after the product has accomplished its job, depending upon level of infestation. General Use: Add FUELSAVER to fuel storage tanks for the control of microbial growth in gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, and heating oil. Bacterial growth rate decreases significantly when its environment goes below ~ 55°F; therefore, the winter biocide treatment is not as critical. Biocide treatment of fuel tanks is most important during the spring, summer, and fall season when the temperatures are routinely above 55°F and temperature swings occur between warm days and cooler nights. Also, during the spring and summer seasons the high humidity can result in moisture formation in tankage, which is conducive to microbial formation. FUELSAVER is not formulated for use in aviation gasoline or jet fuel. Revised 1/2/15. Subject to change without notice. 254 Action Plan: 1. Use the BUG EYE Test Kit to determine if the problem is bacteria related. 2. Remove water bottom if possible. 3. If fuel supply is positive for microbial activity, shock with dual-phase biocide (FUELSAVER). 4. If problem persists, use BUG OUT Sticks for long-term application, when water bottoms are a persistent problem, and when experiencing premature filter plugging over time with same storage tank. Product Availability: 12 1 qt. 4 1 gal. Health and Safety: As with any fuel additives, exercise care by handling FUELSAVER in well-ventilated areas while wearing proper eye and skin protection. Read container label and Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for more specific information. A Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) is available on request. Store above 50 ̊F. Revised 1/2/15.
