BlueView Technologies and VideoRay LLC Complete Jamaican Port Security Trip Both Companies Learn Underwater Smuggling Detection Techniques from Leading Security Firm in Kingston, Jamaica December 10-14, Kingston, Jamaica - Senior Executives from VideoRay and BlueView recently returned from a week long visit with Security Administrators, Ltd (SAL) in Port Bustamante, Kingston, Jamaica. SAL is in charge of all port security in Port Bustamante as dictated by the ISPS code, including ensuring that drug smugglers do not attach canisters in underwater hull locations on ships leaving the port. In the last year three separate vessels have been found to have canisters attached, most recently on November 25th. Before VideoRay operations began in 2002, human divers who located drug caches had been murdered by vicious drug gangs. The purpose of the trip was three fold. The first was to understand more fully how VideoRays were being used in order to further improve their capabilities and suitability for this task. The second purpose was to finalize a contract to allow SAL to increase their scope of security services throughout the Caribbean by selling and servicing VideoRays in additional ports. Finally, demonstrations were successfully conducted with BlueView imagining sonar showing a significant increase in the speed and efficiency of searches in the highly restricted visibility of the water in Port Bustamante. After the meetings, VideoRay and BlueView concluded that the P450 imaging sonar, mounted under a VideoRay ROV, can detect an actual drug container on an actual cargo vessel from a distance of over 100 feet. Meetings and demonstrations were conducted with several members of Jamaica's law enforcement community with VideoRay and BlueView. All involved are now convinced that the three companies can work together to effectively, safely, and rapidly inspect hulls for drug attachments in harbors throughout the Caribbean.
