PLANT SALE 2015
The Idaho Botanical Garden staff enthusiastically welcomes you to our 2015 Spring Plant Sale.
We have been working on the variety selection with our collaborators and suppliers since last
summer to bring you an exciting collection of new and different plants as well as ones you
come to get each and every year from this event. Each year we work to improve offerings with
not only new and exciting varieties, but also ones that will thrive in our sometimes challenging
Intermountain growing climate. With a great selection of vegetables, annuals, and perennials
for your seasonal appetites, you will also find a nice selection of drought tolerant, native and
water efficient options.
This fun event not only supports the horticultural efforts of the garden to demonstrate gardens
that are beautiful and highly suited for our region, but it also provides CWI Horticulture
Technology students with a real-life, hand’s on experience to complement their education. We
hope you enjoy your visit to the garden for this event and keep coming back throughout the
season for great inspiration, education, community connection, and celebration at one of the
many great summer activities taking place. Thank you for your participation and support of the
Idaho Botanical Garden!
Warm regards,
Toby Mancini

the areas they’ve described, and I certainly would have many of them on my list too. Here are a
few others you might consider for a specific situation, or just to experiment with. Either way,
there are lots of great plants to be excited about and we thank you for supporting the Idaho
Botanical Gardens through our annual spring plant sale.
Annuals
Ipomea Margarita and Sweet Caroline Sweetheart Red – both provide season long growth that
trails and enhances any combo pot or mixed bed

beautiful spaces outdoors, and one of the rewards is to enjoy them with a frosty beverage at the
end of a hard day’s work. Apart from their emotional resonation, their flower colors are
breakthroughs also exciting and complimentary with many other plantings. An added benefit is
they perform well with less water.
