An early evaluation is free! Early detection of orthodontic problems does not necessarily mean treatment. When deemed appropriate however, early intervention can minimize the need for more costly and extensive care later. Give your child the best opportunity for a healthy, beautiful smile! In addition, alignment of your child’s teeth can enhance self-esteem at an important time in social development. Feldman Orthodontics is happy to assess your child without charge to determine if they exhibit any sign of malocclusion or other orthodontic issues. North Tampa 1773 W. Fletcher Ave. Tampa, FL 33612 813-968-2483 Established 1982 South Tampa 3739 Neptune Street Tampa, FL 33629 813-254-8005 Present this coupon for a Free Orthodontic Consultation, Exam & Panoramic x-ray. Feldman ,D.D.S., M.S. “When kids smile a lot on the outside, they smile a lot more on the inside. So having fun is all part of my day’s work. Crossbites The upper teeth fit improperly inside the lower teeth. Crowding/Open Bite Crowded teeth resulting in overlapping. A separation of the front teeth when biting down through which the tongue can protrude Spacing Excessive space between the teeth. Underbite Excessive protrusion of the lower jaw and teeth. Midline Discrepancy Improper alignment of upper and lower midlines and/or chin which can affect proper fit of the bite. Persistent Habits Long term finger/thumb sucking habits or tongue thrusting which are both noted for creating multiple bite issues. Airway Deficiency Chronic mouth breathing can interfere with proper development of upper and lower arches. Check Your Bite! The check your bite ruler can be used as a guide to determine protrusion of the top front teeth… one of the most common problems in children today. Early detection of extreme protrusion may allow for simple orthopedic (skeletal) correction. Instructions Cut out the ruler on the right. Have your child bite down on their back teeth while smiling. Place the black end of the ruler against the bottom front teeth. Evaluate how far the upper front teeth protrude (stick out). If upper teeth fall into the red zone we recommend a visit to Dr. Feldman. **The Check Your Bite Ruler is not a substitute for an evaluation by an orthodontic specialist, DO NOT use without adult supervision.
