Legally required vaccines to attend school For your children to legally attend school in Ontario, they must be immunized against the following infectious diseases: Diphtheria Measles Meningococcal disease Mumps Pertussis (whooping cough) Polio Rubella Tetanus Varicella (chickenpox)* For other recommended vaccines, visit Ontario’s Immunization Schedule at ontario.ca/vaccines. Vaccines help your body help itself Vaccines work by triggering a natural response in your body to produce antibodies, which fight off disease.
