MPORTANT INFORMATION AND SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS INFORMATION Installers should be qualified electricians or technicians The installation information in the manual is for information purposes only. The monitoring and operation information in this manual is intended for anyone who needs to operate the inverter. Read the instructions carefully before installing and operating the Inverter. Inverter connection and installation instructions must be followed. The unit should only be opened by skilled personal. To reduce risk of electric shock, disconnect all wiring before making any attempt to maintain or cleaning the unit. Turning off the INVERTER will not reduce this risk. Keep the Inverter clean and dry. The Inverters should be installed in a ventilated and dry area. The mounting surface should be able to support the weight of the inverter. Mount the inverter vertically. Do not install the Inverter where it would be exposed to direct sunlight. Do not remove the inverter casing. Keep the Inverter away from heat emitting sources. Do not block airflow over the inverter heatsink. Do not expose the Inverter to corrosive or any corrosive gasses. Install the inverter away from any explosive gasses. Ambient temperature: 0°C – 40°C The INVERTER must be used with a PV array supply of nominal voltage that matches the inverter specification. Sketches are intended for illustrative purposes only and is not intended to provide an electrical design. WARNING High AC voltage is present and is capable of causing severe electrical shock and injury. 3 INTRODUCTION 4. INVERTER INSTALLATION Consider the following when installing the inverter. 5.1 Planning the Installation Location Find a suitable temperature resistant surface to mount the inverter. Provide enough space for the routing of external wiring and additional accessories. The mounting surface must support the weight of the inverter. Exposure to saltwater is particularly destructive. Do not mount the inverter in a closed container. Unrestricted airflow is required for the inverter to operate at optimal efficiency. Ensure an unrestricted clearance at the bottom, left and right side of the inverter as below. 30cm 30cm 30cm 50cm Orientation The unit must be mounted in a vertical position against the wall. Temperature Away from sources of high temperature. Height Install the inverter so that the display is at eye level. 8 INVERTER INSTALLATION 5.2 Installing the 1,5kW Inverter Mounting Bracket Find a suitable temperature resistant surface to mount the inverter The mounting surface must support the weight of the inverter. Provide enough space for the routing of external wiring Check for existing electrical or plumbing prior to drilling holes in the walls. Position the wall mounting bracket against the wall at a height where the display of the Inverter is at eye level. Level the bracket against the wall and mark the 4 holes on the surface. Drill 4 holes into the wall using a 8mm drill at least 45mm deep. Secure the bracket to the wall using the 4 supplied screws and wall plugs. Tighten the screws firmly. Mount the inverter on the wall bracket as per below Slowly pull the inverter vertically downwards until the inverter’s bottom plate touches the mounting bracket’s bottom. Fix the inverter to the mounting bracket by screwing it to the bracket. 9 INVERTER INSTALLATION 5.3 Installing the 3 & 5 kW Inverter Mounting Bracket Find a suitable temperature resistant surface to mount the inverter The mounting surface must support the weight of the inverter.
