How to Create an MLA Works Cited Go to Knight Cite http://www.calvin.edu/library/knightcite/index.php Enter your information above by choosing the type of resource from the menu on the left. Make sure that Knight Cite is set to MLA style. Create a citation for each resource and cut and paste it below. Then use the rules below to format your works cited. Works Cited Requirements Appears at the end of the work Contains only work cited in text Begins on a new page Continue to number pages even of Works Cited Page number should be in the upper right hand corner/flush with the right margin (1/2 inch from the top) Centre the title Works Cited (one inch from the top) Double space between the title and the first entry Begin each entry flush with left margin and indent the next line in each entry one half inch. (called a hanging indent) Double-space the entire list, both between and within entries. Continue the list on as many pages as necessary. Arrange entries in alphabetical order by author's last name (ignoring spaces and punctuation and going letter by letter) Where no author, use the title, ignoring an, a, and the If two or more works are by the same author use a second author's last name or alphabetize by the title. When referencing two or more works by the same author in the list, give the name in the first entry only.
