Cloud databases' automated provisioning, powered by "Microsoft SQL Server 2014", can now be supported by Interworks Cloud Platform. Interworks Cloud Platform offers to Service Providers the ability to deliver a brand new service.Cloud Database is a highly available, scalable and multi-tenant database service that assists companies in reducing management overhead. Cloud Database enables users to easily deploy and provision multiple databases using flexible resource allocation according to their actual ongoing needs. Service provisioning can be done in several ways based on configuration of the related Service Manager and the topology of the underlying infrastructure. The main differences between the three most commonly used Network Deployment Architectures, is the use of a Load Balanced Service Manager and the number of required SQL Servers or Clusters. By using the Standalone Network Deployment Architecture, Service Providers can deliver to End Customers robust, cost-efficient and scalable Cloud Databases. Moreover, Distributed Network Deployment Architecture offers the ability of distributing databases among the available SQL servers whereas Highly Available Networks Deployment Architecture employs Failover Clusters to combine flexibility with data-loss protection. Standalone, Distributed and Highly Available Deployment Architecture Click to enlarge Cloud Database WorkSpace and Maintenance Tools Following the service provisioning, database operators can quickly start managing provisioned databases using the same tools they have been using for on-premise databases. Cloud Databases can be easily set up and managed through the "My WorkSpace" tab, available in Interworks Marketplace. "My WorkSpace" enables operators to create database user accounts, associate these with databases and grant them different levels of access via Security Roles (e.g. db_owner, db_datareader, db_datawriter). The ability to monitor the size of databases' data file and log file is also provided and an email alert will be automatically triggered when disk space reaches a warning or error percentage limit. Moreover, the available maintenance tools as "Backup", "Restore" and "Change Owner". allow additional database operations such Cloud Databases can also be managed using Microsoft SQL Management Studio by specifying the required database connection information.
